The Tsali Recreation Area is only about 20 minutes from the cabin. It is a popular destination for mountain biking in Western North Carolina, as well as the entire eastern US. Deep Creek area – We're told that Bikers are welcome to ride the 8 or so miles of forest service roads at the Deep Creek Entrance to the park, which parallel Deep Creek and Indian Creek.
Kathy's is about 5 minutes from the
Deep Creek Entrance.
Oconaluftee River Trail – One of the walking paths in the National Park where visitors can walk dogs and bicycle. ( Another is the Gatlinburg trail.) The trail travels 1.5 miles one-way from the Oconaluftee Visitor Center's Mountain Farm Museum to the outskirts of the city of Cherokee, NC.
Kathy's is about 15 minutes from the
visitors center.
